At Red Mountain, we are often asked if we treat Lyme. The answer is yes – definitely – but we tend to focus, as practitioners, on the symptoms of Lyme rather than the diagnosis. Lyme symptoms can look very different in different individuals. These symptoms often co-occur with other health issues that may or may not be related to Lyme. Also, we notice a large number of individuals diagnosed with Lyme are given massive doses of antibiotics for months or even years at a time, which can cause complications.
While we don’t tout ourselves as a “Lyme” clinic, we have seen and treated many Lyme patients in the past with excellent results. We typically don’t issue a Lyme diagnosis in the clinic, nor do we have a one-size-fits-all Lyme protocol that we use. Our office believes treating the entire person – GI, liver, brain, kidney, endocrine/hormones, etc. – is the best way to improve health no matter what the official diagnosis may be. The doctors will collect history and assess symptoms and make recommendations based on those findings. Lyme patients tend to be more sensitive than most, and we customize our treatment plans accordingly.
